Articles of Our Nanotechnology Center Published in Q1 Journals

Two articles within the scope of “Nanotechnology-based heart patch” and “artificial cornea produced with a 3D bio-printer” were published in journals in Q1 category.

In the study conducted jointly by researchers of Marmara University Nanotechnology Center (NBUAM), Genetic and Metabolic Diseases Research and Application Center (GEMHAM), University College London Hospital and Istanbul Medeniyet University Hospital; Artificial cornea was produced with nanotechnology-based heart patch and 3D bioprinter.

The results of the studies; It was published in the Polymer Testing magazine under the name "Production and Characterization of Elastomeric Cardiac Tissue-like Patches for Myocardial Tissue Engineering" and in the European Polymer Journal under the name "3D printed Artificial Cornea for Corneal Stromal Transplantation".

As a result of the research; The production of artificial cornea and artificial heart patches was carried out in our university by two different methods. In this way, the compatibility of the produced biomaterials with the cell has been proved and the use of biomaterials in clinical studies has been opened.

Our Nanotechnology Center researchers continue their online meetings to evaluate ongoing studies in the coronavirus process, to create a roadmap related to clinical studies and to implement new projects.
